To elaborate the well-established technologies and experiences in innovative drug discovery, Institute of Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Research of National Health Research Institutes started up “Value-Added MedChem Innovation Center (VMIC) in 2017 and stationed in the National Biotechnology Research Park in December, 2019. VMIC provides integrated medicinal chemistry research with well-established drug research platform technologies to support the small molecule drug discovery projects for the biotechnology companies and academic/research/medical institutes in Taiwan or even the foreign companies. VMIC’s goal is to upgrade the entirety of the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry in Taiwan.
